1. Location and site factors

• Good access to public as well as private modes of transport with facilities provided for library users who arrive on bicycles or are disabled in any way. Also, since the inforcenter is in the technology park, pedestrians are taken into consideration.
• The Center is conveniently accessed via attractive & safe urban space.
• The SBI Center should have an area to pause and reflect about the information sought and to meet colleages and friends to discussed and gather their thoughts before leaving.
• SBI Center will not open directly on to a busy road/street since, user's wouldn't want to step into a busy street right after the quiet and serene environment of a library.
• SBI Center have ready access to roads for service and emergency purposes.
• As the Center is likely to be used in the evenings (after working hours) as well, the access paths as well as the surrounding areas encourage safety and security, by ensuring high level of land use at all times and also by employing natural and closed circuit television (CCTV) surveillance in conjunction with hight level of lighting.
• SBI Center have easily interpreted visual clues towards main entrance from all directions. Eg. Car, bicycle parks and footpaths.
• Finally, have lots of space to grow with change and can adapt internally. (the statistics yet to be assigned..maybe physical growth of abt 20%?)

2. Planning the library

Issues taken into consideration when planning the building of the SBI Center.

• The relationship between the functional space as well as social space was taken into consideration.

- Functiona space = books, journals, computer terminals, reading areas, display spots.

- Social space = Cafes and bookshops and meeting areas.

• Good communication between the parent University , the information center and the partnerships.( here I meant the organisations in the tech park, was not sure what to call them at this stage.)
